Harout Gives First-ever "Unplugged" Performance at ANC Fundraiser

The Armenian National Committee of Burbank and the
ANC Professional Network held a recent fundraiser at the home of Vahakn and Baidsar
Thomassian, with an unprecedented performance by popular singer Harout Pamboukjian, who sang
"unplugged," with an acoustic guitar, mesmerizing an audience of about two hundred local ANC
supporters.
Up-and-coming singer Gor Mkhitarian also
delighted the crowd with his sound -- a combination of Bob Dylan, Dave Matthews, with a hint of
Ruben Haghverdian.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the ANCA operation in Washington, DC, that is spearheading
several initiatives backed by grassroots support from Armenian communities nationwide.
Toward that end, attendees also signed postcards addressed to the Senate Majority Leader and
the House Speaker urging them to schedule a vote on a human rights bill aimed at reinforcing
the US commitment to the Genocide Convention. To find out more about this and other
nationwide "Hai Tahd" initiatives, visit www.anca.org.
