Every day we witness different forms of violence and inhumanity in our world. One day it’s in the Middle East , another in Eastern Europe or Africa , and yet another right here in America . In the last century, genocide, the ultimate form of violence, was repeated again and again, beginning with the Armenian Genocide and continuing with the Holocaust, In the spirit of “learning from the past, shaping our future,” the Armenian National Committee of Burbank is sponsoring an essay and artcontest to commemorate the Armenian Genocide of 1915 – 1923 and to create an opportunity for learning the broader lessons that it offers.
