ANC-BURBANK LENDS A HAND ON "MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY"

Burbank, CA (October 31, 2002) - The Armenian National Committee of Burbank and Northwest Glendale joined other citizens, organizations and businesses in the Burbank community last week to collect donations at "Make a Difference Day," a community-wide effort sponsored by the Burbank Civic Pride Committee to help local people in need.

ANC-Burbank volunteers collected food at two local supermarkets throughout the day on Saturday, October 26, to be donated to the Burbank Family Service Agency, Burbank Salvation Army, Burbank Temporary Aid Center and the Burbank Boys and Girls Club.

"It's important for all of us to reach out and help our neighbors in need and the ANC is happy to join with others in the community to make a difference in Burbank," commented Mihran Toumajan, a leading member of ANC-Burbank who serves on the City of Burbank Civic Pride Committee.

The annual "Make a Difference Day" is sponsored by USA Weekend and The Points of Light Foundation as a national effort to make the world a better place. Toumajan, who is an active member of the Burbank City Council-appointed Civic Pride Committee, led the Armenian-American community's participation in this year's food drive and noted the importance of volunteer involvement in civic initiatives.

"By volunteering their time last week, Armenian-American community members made a difference by helping those in need and demonstrating our community's commitment toward working with our neighbors to make Burbank a better place to live," added Toumajan. "We thank those who volunteered and look forward to further support on future Burbank community-wide initiatives."

The ANC of Burbank is part of the largest and most influential Armenian-American grassroots political organization. Working in coordination with a network of affiliated organizations and supporters throughout Burbank, the ANC actively pursues the concerns of the Armenian-American community on a broad range of issues.
